Meet the Pastor

Matthew 28:19a
Matthew 28:19a
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations ..."
(Pastor Mark on a missions trip to Albania)

Pastor Mark was born in Sedan, Kansas, the son of Kenneth and Vivian Davis. He grew up in southeast Kansas, and accepted Christ as his personal Savior at the age of ten. He attended schools in Iola until graduation in 1971. Pastor Mark has been privileged to be surrounded by Christian ministry work since childhood, having been raised in a Christian home where the Lord's work was always considered a high calling. That calling was modeled before him as he grew up watching his mother serve in various areas of ministry in their local church.

Pastor Mark has served in many areas of ministry through the years, both in lay and professional positions, including youth leader and senior pastor. In January of 2001, God called Mark to serve as pastor of Campo Baptist Church, Campo, Colorado. The Lord moved the family to serve at First Baptist Church of Cedar Vale in April of 2006.

Pastor Mark and Ralene have three children ranging in age from 15 to 27. Amber and Jennifer are both married, and Justin is still at home. Their children have grown up participating in mom and dad's ministries from the time they were babies.

First Baptist Church of Cedar Vale is especially looking for people who want to be part of an exciting adventure of reaching our community with the all-satisfying peace and hope of an eternal, abundant life in Jesus Christ. Service opportunities abound here for everyone. If you aren't experiencing the peace and hope in Jesus Christ, Pastor Mark would love to sit down and talk to you about how you can live life abundantly and answer any of your questions. Please feel free to call him at (620) 758-2725.

CELL PHONE vs. BIBLE
I wonder ...
What would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
This is something to make you go ... hmm ... where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing ... Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
Makes you stop and think 'where are my priorities?'
And no dropped calls!
